The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are riding a three game winning streak, are playing good football and those in charge can now be heard.
After today’s 24-21 victory over the Detroit Lions, Bucs Co-Chairman Joel Glazer seemed to show support for head coach Greg Schiano based off of his comments.
The comments come at a curious time. When the Bucs lost eight straight games to begin the season, nothing was said by any of the Glazers. Now they’ve won three games, Joel Glazer comes out singing Schiano’s praises.
While Bucs’ fans are certainly glad to see the team string some wins together, there is no getting around the fact that this team is 3-8. Quite simply, they’ve been a disappointment all season, a season in which they were tipped to be a playoff contender.
The Bucs still have five games this season and the status of Schiano should be dealt with at seasons end, not now.
The Glazer’s comments come off as a knee-jerk reaction to a good few weeks, rather than what is best in the long run for the franchise.
Fans have continually voiced their displeasure with Schiano and despite winning three straight games, numerous fans do not remain sold on Schiano being a successful head coach in Tampa Bay.
Either way, the Glazer family has spoken up with praise for Schiano. Whether he is the Buccaneers head coach remains to be seen, but he appears to have at least one member of the boardroom in his corner.
