Lavonte David and Mike Glennon Awarded for Recent Performances During Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Winning Streak

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have experienced plenty of losing this season, and with that has come a general ignorance about their talented roster by those who follow other teams.

But this week, the NFL announced two awards which should help shine a small spotlight on some of the young talent the Bucs have.

For David, the award is a much-deserved bit of recognition for one of his best statistical weeks, posting a dozen tackles with an interception and a forced fumble. But the second-year linebacker from Nebraska has been playing at that level all season, and should be in contention for the Pro Bowl and All-Pro teams at his position.

For Glennon the award is the first of its kind in his NFL career, as he’s burst onto the scene in the past month and posted some very impressive statistics.

He has certainly faced a couple of poor defenses, but it’s still not easy to lead the NFL in a passing category over an entire month, considering the competition at the position.

So if it served no other positive purpose, the winning streak for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers allowed the national audience to catch a glimpse of just how talented this team is. And hopefully it has gone a long way to earning guys like Lavonte David, Gerald McCoy, and Darrelle Revis their trips to Hawaii for the Pro Bowl.
