Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan can breathe a sigh of relief: Darrelle Revis is active for today’s game against the Carolina Panthers.

With Revis active, he will more than likely cover Panthers wideout Steve Smith which will be an entertaining matchup if nothing else. It also allows the Bucs a much better chance to contain Cam Newton and the Panthers offense knowing their star cornerback is on the field.
The Bucs inactive list for their NFC South matchup is as follows:
Bucs inactives: WR Skye Dawson, G Carl Nicks, DE Steven Means, DT Derek Landri, FB Lonnie Pryor, S Bradley McDougald, G Patrick Omameh.

No real surprises this week for the Bucs. Mason Foster is active after missing last week’s game against the Detroit Lions with a concussion, while Dashon Goldson returns from suspension. New tight end Kyle Adams is active and will backup Tim Wright.
Lonnie Pryor remains inactive so that means Michael Hill and Spencer Larson will get looks at running back and fullback today.
The Panthers will be without two star players this week however.

DeAngelo Williams, who forms one half of their star running back tandem, will miss this week’s game, while sack leader Charles Johnson will also be inactive. Linebacker Chase Blackburn also won’t suit up.
With Williams out, Mike Tolbert and Kenjon Barner will get more carries at running back, while the Panthers defense, which is one of the NFL’s best, will have to generate a pass rush through someone other than Johnson.
With Johnson inactive, it figures to help the Bucs offensive line and should give quarterback Mike Glennon a little more time in the pocket to find an open receiver.
