Life may not have been great for Darrelle Revis this season. Working in a questionable scheme with a frustrating coach with a surgically repaired knee still holding him back a bit must have been difficult for the All-Pro corner used to a much simpler gameplan and better coach in New York with the Jets.
But things have changed, and life is good for Darrelle Revis right now.
He’s hanging out in Hawaii, getting ready to play one last football game this season, and he’s reportedly feeling as good as ever.
Our friends at JoeBucsFan had an exclusive interview with Revis, and he declared himself to be 100 percent. When asked if Buccaneer fans could expect an even better Revis in 2014, he said “Yes they can.”
This should be further proof that Revis was worth every penny of salary and every ounce of potential in the draft picks surrendered for him, because a “not 100 percent” Darrelle Revis was still really good in 2013.
Throwing Revis onto the field with a better coach and a few possible additions (like a pass rusher to force quarterbacks to get rid of the ball more quickly) would have improved his play as it was, but a return to full health with a full offseason to work with the team and get into game shape by Week 1 will really help to silence the doubters of Revis’ ability.
Buccaneer fans have a lot to look forward to in 2014, and a dominant, All-Pro performance from Darrelle Revis should be near the top of the list.
