The Tampa Bay Buccaneers surprised everyone by releasing their new uniforms earlier than expected on Monday, and the changes to the look are certainly bigger than most expected.
Here is the new uniform, as revealed by the Buccaneers’ official website.
Pewter still features prominently, something we’re grateful for here at the Pewter Plank, while orange and red share duties as an accent color on what is a very loud uniform.
According to the press release that went alongside the unveiling of this image, the uniform will feature a different logo on either shoulder, with the ship on one and the flag on the other. There are no logos on the front of the uniform other than the NFL shield.
The pants will also feature the new flag logo on either hip, and have red and orange accents.
And according to the Buccaneers and Nike, the Bucs are the first time to adopt chrome accents as a part of a uniform, as well:
- “Tampa Bay also becomes the first NFL franchise to incorporate a revolutionary reflective chrome border around the numbers on the front, back and shoulders. The chrome border incorporates a technologically advanced reflective coating that adds a new dimension, increased readability and a unique glow to the numbers.”
The Buccaneers will unveil the rest of their new look later on today, but now that we’ve got a quick look at how drastic the changes will be, what are your thoughts?
