After months of speculation, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have selected Texas A&M wide receiver Mike Evans with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Much of the speculation regarding the Buccaneers was for Evans’ A&M teammate, Johnny Manziel, but ultimately the Bucs got their guy.
The Buccaneers have a similar receiver in Vincent Jackson that he can learn from, and Mike Evans will likely be his eventual replacement. When Bucs GM Jason Licht spoke to the media about the first round selection, he said the Buccaneers have “twin towers” pairing with Evans and Jackson.
Tampa still has needs at guard, quarterback, and wide receiver at this time. With their lack of picks, it is doubtful they move back into the first round.
