We are less than 12 hours away from the Houston Texans handing over their draft selection to the commissioner to make the announcement, and rumors are still swirling.
The Bucs have been the subject of much of what’s been said recently.
Yahoo!’s senior investigative reporter, Charles Robinson, is adding more fuel to the fire.
Landed in NYC. Spent a lot of time on the Manziel shell game over the last couple months. I believe he’ll be a Tampa Bay Buccaneer tomorrow.

Now, it is unclear what Robinson actually means by “the Manziel shell game”, but the fact that he has the title of “investigative reporter” makes me believe that he has done a little bit of research on Johnny Manziel and what teams are trying to land the former Heisman Trophy winner and Texas A&M star.
ESPN’s Ed Werder has backed up Robinson’s statements, claiming that Manziel will not get past the Buccaneers at No. 7.
“He’s not expected to be on the board past the No. 7 pick, which belongs to Tampa Bay.” -ESPN’s Ed Werder
Werder’s statement also left room for another team taking him before the Bucs have the 7th pick, so it would be foolish to assume that the Buccaneers still wouldn’t want to trade up. Although it hurts them because of their lack of picks this year, if Manziel is really the guy that they covet, don’t be surprised if that scenario still plays out.
We’ll know later tonight, but in the meantime, keep checking back with The Pewter Plank for all of the latest draft talk and rumors regarding the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
