With their first pick on day 2 of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Buccaneers have used their second round selection on TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins from Washington.
Seferian-Jenkins gives them another tight end, to bolster the unit that also includes 2nd-year man Tim Wright and free agency signing Brandon Myers.
He is 21 years old, 6’6″, and 276 pounds. He caught 36 passes for 450 yards and 8 touchdowns in his junior (and final) season with the Huskies.
Seferian-Jenkins has amazing size, great hands, and will surely provide the Buccaneers’ new offense with a big red zone threat.
After the selection, NFL Network’s Mike Mayock said that the Bucs’ offense will be extremely tough to defend, calling the threats of Seferian-Jenkins, Vincent Jackson, and Mike Evans “basketball on grass”.
