Jason Licht Calls Jackson and Evans “The Twin Towers”

After the Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted Texas A&M wideout Mike Evans yesterday in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, he and Vincent Jackson have already been given a new nickname by Bucs GM Jason Licht.

“What stood out? It was what stood up on him. It’s an old Houston (Rockets) reference, we’ve got the Twin Towers now,” Licht said. “He was our guy … He’s a big guy who can run. Very physical, very tough and has phenomenal hands. Not just good hands, phenomenal hands.”

With Jackson and Evans lining up on opposite sides of the field each week for the Bucs, they will have two of the biggest and most physical receivers in the league.

Licht added of Evans, “he catches just about everything that comes his way,” with Smith saying “we liked Mike right away, early on.”

The Bucs also passed on Johnny Manziel, instead selecting his teammate at A&M in Evans. “Why would we want to add a third quarterback to the mix? We needed other positions,” Smith said of why the Bucs passed on Manziel.

Smith would later endorse Mike Glennon as the Buccaneers “quarterback of the future.”

I don’t know why Lovie plays like he doesn’t know why someone would ask him why he didn’t draft Manzel.
He knows if he had a good enough trade for Glennon or a good deal rose up he would have pick Manzel. Evens is a GREAT pick, but stop lying.
