Day 2 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Rookie Minicamp Notes

Day 2 of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie minicamp is in the books, and just like yesterday, it came with a lot of news.

If you missed our day 1 recap, you can check it out here. Now, on to today’s notes:

• The Bucs will be signing some players once rookie minicamp concludes, but Lovie Smith wouldn’t disclose the names of those who will be signed.
• The Bucs could be on the lookout for a new punt returner, which wouldn’t bode well for Eric Page. Solomon Patton, a UDFA signing, also returned punts today.
• Charles Sims, the Bucs’ third round pick in the draft, returned some kickoffs today and caught a number of passes.
• Robert Herron was also used as a kick returner today. Smith described kick return as an “area of concern.”
• After struggling yesterday, Herron was reportedly much better today at catching the football.
• Brett Smith, who is the only quarterback at rookie minicamp, played very well today after a poor first day.
• Aaron Burks made some tough catches during passing drills.
Tomorrow will be just a walkthrough practice, meaning that yesterday and today were the only days of contact.

If you need a reminder, the 50 players who are at rookie minicamp can be found here.
