Austin Seferian-Jenkins Impressing in Training Camp

With the University of Washington’s graduation ceremonies cutting into his offseason workouts, Austin Seferian-Jenkins was admittedly behind the eight ball in regards to picking up the Bucs’ new offense.

That didn’t last long.

After the late start, Tampa Bay’s rookie tight end has impressed everyone at the team’s training camp practices, with NFL Media’s Daniel Jeremiah claiming that the team is very excited about what ASJ has brought to the table.

Most fans are excited about his pass-catching ability, but Jeremiah also sees plenty of potential, and comfort, in his blocking abilities.

That’s great news for the Buccaneers, who still have Tim Wright at the position as well. Double tight end sets will be used heavily if the Buccaneers decide to have a run-first offense. And with Wright not exactly having the size to be an effective run blocker, the fact that ASJ has the size and ability is a great sign of things to come.

Seferian-Jenkins could very well become the secret weapon for Tampa Bay’s offense this season.
