Tampa Bay Buccaneers acquire Logan Mankins from New England Patriots

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers purged their offensive line this offseason but have replaced just about everyone with a similar yet better player.

What the Bucs needed though was some serious Pro Bowl talent on the offensive front, and that’s what has happened with the team’s latest move. No, the team hasn’t brought in Richie Incognito, but Lovie Smith has definitely proved that the team explored all options in filling the hole on the offensive line.

According to Jay Glazer from FOX Sports, the Bucs will be acquiring Pro Bowl offensive lineman Logan Mankins from the New England Patriots in exchange for tight end Tim Wright and a future draft pick.

The deal has not yet been finalized but it’s looking like the Bucs are picking up the offensive line help that they needed. This likely means that Richie Incognito is out as an option for the Buccaneers, but we can never say never.

What we can say is that Mankins coming to Tampa Bay is absolutely huge as he’s a pillar on the offensive line and will help make this unit even better than it’s already looking to be.
