While the starters might not play much tonight in the Buccaneers’ final preseason game against Washington, Tampa Bay’s offense might have a tough time finding rhythm again.
The team’s offensive coordinator, Jeff Tedford, recently underwent an undisclosed medical procedure and will miss tonight’s game.
“The procedure went well,” Lovie Smith said when asked about his coordinator. “He’s fine, alert, up. Our staff will pull up the slack and we’ll go from there.”
We do not know if Tedford will miss any of the team’s regular season, but believe it or not, this is a little bit of a blow to the Bucs right now. They’re coming off of a solid offensive performance against the Buffalo Bills and would like to replicate, and improve upon, the results. However, when you are missing the man that calls the plays, this adds yet another obstacle that the Buccaneers will have to overcome to get some offensive production.
