The Tampa Bay Buccaneers trimmed their roster this weekend down to the 53-man squad they will be taking into the season, only the squad they trimmed has been adjusted slightly since final cuts where made.
Charles Sims was a guy the Bucs were holding out hope could return to the team but he won’t be ready to go and has been stashed on the injured reserve designated for return list. On Wednesday morning, the Bucs re-signed recently cut safety Major Wright, and his return is directly created by the trip Sims is taking to IR.
According to Ian Rapoport, the Sims and Wright moves will be announced in the near future.
The #Bucs will place rookie RB Charles Sims on Injured Reserve/designated to return to clear room for Major Wright, source says

Roy cummings from the Tampa Bay Times also backed u the report that Sims is headed to IR.
as i said, The #Bucs have placed RB Charles Sim’s on injured reserve-designated to return. Have also signed back DB Major Wright.

The Bucs weren’t going to get rid of Sims but Wright coming back will help pad the secondary depth. Tampa has had a rough go of things in their secondary as of late, but Wright will add some extra depth to a unit that may pop this upcoming season.
