Buccaneers vs Redskins: Preview, Where to Watch and Listen

With three weeks gone in the 2016 preseason, the Buccaneers host the Washington Redskins on Wednesday night in the final tuneup before week one of the regular season. Here, we preview the matchup and tell you where you can watch and listen to it.
The potential for severe weather in the Tampa Bay area forced the Buccaneers to move their preseason finale to Wednesday night at 8. It won’t be the starters for either team feeling the effects of this week’s schedule change as the majority of the game will feature backups that are on the roster bubble.
The Bucs are coming off of their best game of the preseason last Friday night against the Browns. Tampa Bay won 30-10, playing a solid game all the way around. Jameis Winston went 16-of-25 for 259 yards and two touchdowns, connecting with Charles Sims and Mike Evans for scores. The Tampa Bay defense racked up eight sacks and Roberto Aguayo was a combined six-for-six on extra points and field goals.
The Bucs still have to decide their remaining position battles this week. Storm Johnson was among the group of players cut over the weekend, so the third running back spot will be up for grabs on Wednesday between Mike James, Peyton Barber and Russell Hansbrough. Tampa Bay will also have to decide which receivers stay on the final 53-man roster. And, on the defensive side of the ball, there are decisions to be made at every position. The defense as a whole has looked solid throughout the preseason, so some tough choices will have to be made by the front office.

And, with the injury to Donteea Dye, the Bucs are without a kick returner. Kenny Bell will get another opportunity, as will Bernard Reedy, Ryan Smith and Jonathan Krause.
Washington will not play many starters, meaning rookie Nate Sudfeld will start at quarterback. Jay Gruden’s team has its own position battles to conclude and roster decisions to make, so Wednesday will be the final chance for many Washington players to make a case for themselves.
WHERE TO WATCH: Locally, WFLA will have the broadcast. Chris Myers will have the play-by-play, Ronde Barber will be on commentary and Dan Lucas is the crew’s sideline reporter. WHERE TO LISTEN: The team’s flagship station, U.S. 103.5 (FM)/620 WDAE (AM), will have the broadcast.
