In his latest mock draft, NFL.com and NFL Network draft expert Bucky Brooks expects Florida State running back Dalvin Cook to fall to the Buccaneers.

Bucky Brooks has made some questionable mock draft picks for the Buccaneers so far this off-season. Most recently, Brooks had linebacker Jarrad Davis mocked to the Bucs for who knows what reason as they run the vast majority of their plays with two linebackers and have studs in those positions.

Tuesday, Brooks unveiled his mock draft 4.0 where he paired stud Florida State running back Dalvin Cook with the Buccaneers in what many Bucs fans consider a match made in heaven. Cook, former teammate of Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston, is a phenomenal talent worthy of a first round pick – despite the prejudice against first round running backs. His explosiveness in the run game mixed with his game breaking ability as a pass catcher out of the backfield makes him the three down threat the Bucs haven’t had at running back in a while.

While Doug Martin is still technically on the team, he was never a three down guy as he’s always been suspect in the passing game. Charles Sims displayed flashes in 2015, but when given the reigns in 2016 he faltered as a running back proving he’s most effective when catching out of the backfield and has wide open spaces with which to work. Jacquizz Rodgers filled in adequately but there is a reason he was still on the street after week one of the season last year. He’s not a feature guy.

Cook would provide stability, consistency, and game changing skills to an offense on the verge of greatness. Adding him to the mix with Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson gives the Bucs a three headed monster at skill positions that will do nothing but make defensive coordinators wake up in cold sweats during Bucs week.

No, I’m not in the camp that the Buccaneers should trade up for anyone but Cook is easily one of my favorite prospects for the Bucs at nineteen. If he’s there, it should be a done deal.
