This guest post was made by the SeatCrunch team.

Last year, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had one of the most disappointing offenses in the league. Running back LeGarrette Blount, WR Mike Williams and QB Josh Freeman made up pretty much everything the Bucs had to offer on the offensive side of the ball. Each of these players has immense talent, but with no other threatening wide receivers or tight ends, Freeman had nowhere to go except for to Williams, who would usually be the secondary’s focus. When the pass isn’t there, the run isn’t there, so the Buc’s just had no options.

This year, they’re hoping things will turn around. In the offseason the Bucs picked up two highly-talented veteran receivers; Vincent Jackson at wide receiver, and Dallas Clark at tight end. This should open things up for Williams, who should still be considered the best receiver on the team despite his slow season in 2011.

In addition, they drafted RB Doug Martin with the 31st overall pick in the draft. This addition accomplishes two things. First, it creates competition for LeGarrette Blount, who is an extremely powerful running back, but had a disappointing season in 2011. Second, it gives the Bucs a very intimidating backfield. Martin is faster, more explosive and can double as a pass-catching back, while Blount brings the power and tackle-breaking ability to the table.

Look for this slew of offensive weapons to turn around the Buccaneer’s game in 2012. Don’t be surprised if they stir things up in the NFC South, which is becoming a highly intriguing division as far as offenses are concerned.
