Lost in the shuffle of the two big wins last night was the Mike Alstott tribute. From the Orlando Sentinel:

During halftime of the Tampa Bay Bucs win over the Seattle Seahawks, a ceremony was held honoring retired Bucs fullback Mike Alstott. He was presented with two framed jerseys. One in the current Buccaneer red, and then other in the famed ‘creamsicle’ colors from the Bucs of the past.

However, there was one glitch, many thought. Alstott’s name on the throwback jersey was misspelled without the first ‘t” — ALSOTT.

But the misspelling was not actually an error. In Alstott’s first season, 1996, his jersey had his name misspelled for each of his first two games before the error was finally corrected. So, in commemorating the past, the Bucs decided to dot all the i’s but leave off one ‘t.’

Congrats, Mike…Alsott. And go Bucs and Rays!
