]]> The Buccaneers announced this week the release of QB Bruce Gradkowski.  Due to his lack of service time in the league, he has to clear waivers before he is actually a free agent.  Scout.com is reporting that the Bucs have not actually gone through the process of releasing him with the league office.   The Vikings did this a few weeks ago with DE Erasmus James, and eventually secured a trade with the Redskins for his services. 

On a seperate note, Bucpower.com called Brucey G the Polish Pop Gun and I thought that was absolutely hilarious.

Yesterday, the Bucs re-acquired QB Brian Griese from the Chicago Bears for an undisclosed draft pick in next years draft.   Griese will battle with Luke McCown for the backup QB spot this upcoming season.  

This seems to be a luxury move for the Bucs as we now have 5 QB’s on the roster.  Would seemingly spell the end of Bruce Gradkowski’s time with the Bucs, and the same can most likely be said for Chris Simms.  I would have to imagine someone would be willing to throw a late round flier out for Simms, so in all likelihood, we will recoup the pick we lost from this trade anyway.
