Derrick Brooks - ”Of course I was shocked,” said linebacker Derrick Brooks, who called in to the Steve Duemig show Friday night. “I’m so emotional I wanna make sure I word this right, obviously our owners felt there was need for a change…. at the same time I’m gonna appreciate the body of work that coach Gruden brought to us while he was our leader.” 

FROM 620 WDAE – Brooks said he was moved to call because he heard “one too many” callers bashing Gruden. And he was upset at the suggestion that the Buccaneers gave up this season, when they went from 9-3 to 9-7 and out of playoff contention.
