Here are some Buc Bits – small, bits of news about the Buccaneers to help you get through the busy work day.

Aqib Talib will play Sunday after missing the Cleveland game due to a suspension. Talib joining the active roster means the Bucs will have to cut one player today in order to stay at the 53-man roster maximum.

Maurice Stovall was inactive against Cleveland even though he says his ankle is ready to go. It was a coach’s decision not to put him on the active day 46-man roster. The big question is, will he be cut? The Bucs are happy with Williams, Stroughter, Spurlock, and Benn is filling in on special teams. There may not be a spot for him.

Keydrick Vincent might be part of a rotating guard situation to bring in Zuttah on passing downs. Vincent is physical on running plays, but is older and needs more time to recover and is not that gifted on passing downs. Zuttah is younger, athletic and can protect better on passing downs, but is not as physical on running plays. It is an odd situation which does not look too good at the moment. Using multiple offensive linemen during the game does not go well for continuity.

The Bucs are reporting no injuries today, good news as they prepare for Carolina this Sunday.

Tampa Bay has added a new member to their offensive line, a move that will bolster their blocking up front. Left guard Keydrick Vincent, formerely of the Carolina Panthers, is expected to compete with Jeremy Zuttah for the starting left guard spot.

Coming out of Ole Miss, Vincent has ten years of experiance in the NFL, playing for the Baltimore Ravens, Arizona Cardinals, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Carolina Panthers. Vincent is a solid run blocker and will create holes for the Bucs’ running game.

With the addition of Vincent, the Bucs had to cut ties with rookie guard Sergio Render. The Virginia Tech product was expected to find a home through the draft, but after going seven rounds without hearing his name, he signed with the Bucs as an undrafted free agent. He should be able to find a team shortly, and hopefully compete for playing time.
