#4 RB Doug Martin

Your guess is as good as mine as to how Doug Martin is going to come out and play this year, exactly why I’m looking forward to his debut in Week 4. He has had an up and down five year career in a Bucs uniform, two years the former and three being the latter. His adderall use that led to being suspended for the last game of the year and the first three of this year has given him a negative outlook around the league, leading many to believe that the Bucs would cut him.

The Buccaneers decided to hold onto Martin while not adding any other starting caliber backs, showing confidence in him that he will come with a vengeance. It’s a risky proposition because with Winston and the passing game looking elite, they need a strong running game to balance the offense out. If 2012/2015 Martin comes to play, the rest of the league needs to watch out.

Don’t let Martin’s 5’9″, 223 pound self fool you because this little man can be a beast in the trenches when healthy. During his 2015 breakout campaign, Martin was the only running back with 150+ carries to average more then 3.0 yards per carry after contact. That’s a crazy stat for a man of his size to be doing. He can be the difference between making this offense go from middle of the pack to top 5-10 material. All eyes will be on him from his first carry in Week 4 to see what type of Doug we’re going to get.
