5 best players the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face in 2020
By Rob Leeds
While Aaron Donald is a great player and a clear Hall of Famer, there is no one in the NFL right now that can affect games more than quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Tom Brady has earned the title as the greatest of all time, but after just two seasons watching Mahomes as a starter, it seems like Brady could be passing the torch on to Mahomes within the next decade or so.
Mahomes is easily the most exciting player to watch in the NFL. His arm is the strongest by a mile, he is a legitimate threat as a runner, and his ability to extend plays is unlike anyone else in the history of football.
In almost every week, Mahomes makes a play that seemed impossible the week before, and then he continues to top it as the season progresses. Mahomes has shredded some of the best defenses in the NFL, and he has shown no signs of slowing down even though his most recent season contained an injury.
In two years as a starter, Mahomes was an NFL MVP and was the Super Bowl MVP in 2020. With all due respect to the other players in the NFL, it looks like Mahomes has the title of “best player in the league” wrapped up pretty tight for the time being, and that shows no sign of changing any time soon.
Patrick Mahomes will be a massive problem for the Buccaneer defense, and Todd Bowles will hopefully start game-planning for this matchup now if he has any hopes of slowing down this electric quarterback.
