The Buccaneer defense tops its week two turnover number with five

Defenses in the modern NFL need one thing above all others: turnovers. Tampa Bay has struggled heavily with not producing enough turnovers on the defensive side of the ball in the past, but 2020 could set a new standard in that category. Preventing yards and touchdowns is also important, but getting the ball back to the offense as quickly as possible is always vital.

The Bucs were able to account for four fumbles in the last game and should look to build on that exceptional number. Jeff Driskel is not a top-tier option at backup, and the Bucs should feast on inexperienced play.

With Shaquil Barrett hunting for his first sack of the season, Jason Pierre-Paul on the other side, and Ndamukong Suh coming off of a two-sack game, Driskel should be under pressure for the vast majority of the contest. Some quarterbacks can remain clutch in times like this, but the Buccaneer secondary should make any cool head heat up.

A two-interception game is an excellent improvement for the Buccaneers, but upping that number to three against an inexperienced starting quarterback should be the goal, and two other turnovers aren’t entirely out of the question.
