Gil was born and raised in Tampa, Florida and grew up following the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After a couple stints writing about entertainment news in 2010, he pursued his passion of covering the NFL in 2011 before launching his own site, TheBayCave.com, in 2012. After covering the Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Tampa Bay Rays, Gil shifted his focus to the Bucs.
