4 former Tampa Bay Buccaneers we’d like to see return in 2024

There are a few familiar faces hitting free agency things year we'd love to see back in Tampa Bay.

Jameis Winston, QB

Here's a total wild card that could end up being a full-circle moment for all involved. Jameis Winston wore out his welcome in Tampa Bay back in 2020, something that led to the team signing Tom Brady and winning a Super Bowl. Winston headed over to New Orleans where he served as a backup, but in each meeting between the Bucs and Saints it's clear that there's still a ton of love flowing both directions.

It takes a lot for something like that to happen between those two teams, too.

Winston failed to be the starter the Bucs needed but he could return to Tampa Bay as a backup to Baker Mayfield. He has friends in the locker room and Jason Licht is still someone who champions the quarterback he took No. 1 overall any chance he gets. If there was any bad blood about the team moving on, it might have been flushed out of everyone's system and a reunion would be the perfect way to bury any hatchet.

Bringing Winston back serves a practical purpose, too. Kyle Trask is simply not the guy and the Bucs are likely to move on after next season when his contract is up. Winston would return to Tampa Bay in a lesser role than when he left but he could still be an important part of the quarterback room. Imagine the vibes of Baker combined with the manic energy Jameis brings -- the locker room would never be the same.

It's an extreme longshot to happen, but if we're looking at former Bucs who could come back then you can do a lot worse than a reunion with Winston.
