Another exhilirating win, this time in RayJay. It looked like we had the game locked away after the 2nd quarter, but we let them back in, and pulled out another (technically) come from behind win.
Derrick Brooks should have had a pick for a score. He had it in his hands at about the 5 yard line and just duffed it, his second INT drop of the drive. He made up for it late in the game with a pick though.
Greg Jennings first touchdown was a breakdown in the Cover 2 by Tanard Jackson. He has to be responsible for that deep [...]
NFC Showdown @ RayJay
Bucs vs Packers – Sunday 1:00 PM – Raymond James Stadium
Injuries
Questionable – DT Ryan Simms, WLB Derrick Brooks, CB Aqib Talib, K Matt Bryant
Out – Joey Galloway
Doubtful – Davin Joseph, BJ Askew
This is a painful list to look at. I mentioned it earlier this week in a post. Joseph I didn’t expect to play, but the rest of the players on this list are integral parts of the team. Whether or not Matt Bryant plays on Sunday is inconsequential, not to the Bucs, but in the grand scheme of it all. Once again, thoughts out to Matt Bryant and his [...]
Talib Back At Practice
WIth a huge home game this weekend against the Green Bay Packers looming, the injury report for the Bucs is something I have been watching very closely this week. Two key pieces to beating the Packers this weekend were noticeably absent from last weeks game in rookie CB Aqib Talib and WR Joey Galloway.
Joey Galloway again missed today’s practice, and if I were a betting man, I’d say to not expect to see him this weekend. There were some whispers of Galloway’s injury being a little worse than the Bucs were letting on in the preseason, and we have only [...]
I Like!
Saw this picture on one of my favorite Buc Blogs besides my own, Bucstats.com and felt obligated to make sure everyone sees it! Thanks Maxim, and thanks Rachel Watson.
Matt Bryant’s infant son passed away this morning. The Bucs were notified after their practice today.
“We had a terrible tragedy this morning,” said Gruden. “We lost a key member of our family. Matt Bryant and Melissa lost their youngest son. I don’t have a lot of details but…it’s hard. Our prayers go out to the Bryants.
Not much can be said when something like this occurs. Losing a child is something that I can not even contemplate. Prayers from Pewter Plank and I know that I can say the same for every member of Fan-Sided Blogs.
Stick with what works
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers surprised everybody in 2007 when they took the NFC South division title and has continued to show that they still have life in them after an up and down past few seasons had convinced many that the glory days at Raymond James Stadium had ended.
One of the reasons that the team has remained relevant is that the defense has remained strong. The Bucs have kept with the Cover-2 after many teams have tried to return to an emphasis on pass rush after seeing the New York Giants win Super Bowl [...]
For starters, on an excitement and possible heart attack level, this game was a surefire 10. For awhile I thought we looked like we were going to crush this team, than it appeared as though we were finished, then we came back got to OT and got the ball, only to not score on the first drive in OT which normally means game over, only to get a stop and then come down and score. It was riveting. I am on a business trip in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and I could not contain my enthusiasm which came in the [...]
Thursday Bucs Link Roundup
Michael Clayton will get the start this Sunday vs the Bears with Joey Galloway likely to be out.
”I’ve been told I will be starting, so we’ll see what happens,” Clayton said. “It’s a lot of opportunity for every wide receiver that will be out there…This is one I’ve been waiting for. It’s a tremendous opportunity. It couldn’t have come at a better time. It’s early in the season, so I’ll get a lot of plays out there.”
Greg White finally got his contract extension. Bruce Allen and the Glazers will reward good players who shut their mouth and show up. White [...]
