Last week we had plenty of fantasy football surprises and our usual amount of fantasy duds. For owners of Maurice Jones-Drew and Adrian Peterson, you got a happy surprise when both back declared with authority that they were back and ready to produce. For owners of Fred Jackson the week wasn’t as glamorous.
But hey, we made it through Week 1 without any major players going on IR so at least everyone wins in that regard. But let’s forget about Week 1 for a moment because right now all that matters is getting in and setting your last minute lineups before kickoff. It’s not too late to salvage your fantasy season, so let’s get to it.

Start ‘Em: Reggie Wayne – WR/Colts (vs. Minnesota Vikings)
Last week Wayne was targeted 18 times by Andrew Luck, making him the top target for the rookie. There is no reason that should change for this week, especially considering who the Colts are playing. The Minnesota Vikings may have a winning record for the first time since 2009, but they’re not an elite defense and certainly not so in their weak secondary. Wayne on the other hand is still an elite wide out when he’s firing on all cylinders and the Vikings have no one to make sure that doesn’t happen. The Vikings allowed Mercedes Lewis to score last week and made Blaine Gabbert look amazing, so the Luck-Wayne connection should flourish this week, as Wayne is a must-start in this one.
