Fantasy Football: Start ‘Em or Sit ‘Em

Start ‘Em: Alex Smith – QB/49ers (at Minnesota Vikings)
If you have Brady and Smith is on your bench — or even if you don’t have Brady and do happen to have Smith– he’s a borderline must-start this week against the Vikings atrocious pass defense. The Vikings have had bad weeks against Blaine Gabbert and Andrew Luck, and the way the 49ers are playing, Smith is poised to give them a third straight terrible week. Smith is also on fire in fantasy leagues and has posted consecutive 20-plus point weeks for his owners. One of the reasons the 49ers are so tough to beat is because Smith has taken a giant step forward this year and is connecting with Michael Crabtree, Randy Moss and Vernon Davis. He’s also got Frank Gore who has showed off his ability to be a pass catching running back. Smith has a laughably bad defense this week and should pick apart the Vikings. If you have him and don’t start him, never play fantasy football again.
