Sit ‘Em: Steve Smith – WR|Panthers (vs. Seattle Seahawks)

The Seahawks have been able to flex their secondary muscles pretty intensely this season and they’re looking to continue that against the bi-polar Cam Newton. When Newton struggles so does his No. 1 target Steve Smith and that’s looking like the case again this week. Newton is set to go off at anytime but he seems to be wallowing in his own wounded hero act. One second Newton is pulling the Superman act and the next he’s sulking with his towel over his head. Smith called him out on that and there seems to be a rift between the two. How intense this rift is, that’s something different but Smith’s chances against the Seahawks are slim no matter how you stack it. Seattle has allowed just two receivers to score against them and that’s not counting Danny Amendola’s TD on a fake field goal last week. Not only this but Smith’s anger at Newton may be stemming form the fact Smith hasn’t scored all season, and his production is in steep decline. Don’t expect big things out of Smith this week.
