The first preseason game is now in the books. The Buccaneers were sloppy to say the least, but that is to be expected from a first playoff game. There are no major injuries to report (hopefully that stays the same tomorrow). Notable inactives were of Adrian Clayborn, Gary Gibson, Lawrence Tynes, Davin Joseph, Carl Nicks, Luke Stocker, and of course Darrelle Revis. So to put any weight into this result is simply not something that should be done.
Here are some stat lines that stuck out to us.
Josh Freeman – 4 completions in 7 attempts. 34 yards, played in two drives.
Mike Glennon – 11 for 23, 169 yards, 1 INT
Brian Leonard – 6 attempts, 23 yards, 1 TD
Kevin Ogletree – 5 receptions, 65 yards
Tom Crabtree – 1 completion, 63 yards
Lavonte David – 3 tackles, 1 sack
Johnthan Banks – 5 tackles
Here are some notable tweets (and retweets) from our own Leo Howell from The Pewter Plank Twitter account.

Brian Leonard was a good pickup by the Bucs. He is a versatile player who loves fb & is all about the team. In other words, a Buccaneer Man.

Other than Dimke the special teams have failed tonight.

Keith Tandy has not looked good tonight. Allows a big play to a TE over the middle.

Melvin burnt for a touchdown. Couldn't make a play on the ball. Touchdown Ravens.

The Bucs depth players are deep on mistakes tonight. But there have been good moments. Not all awful.

And finally a few tweets from the Buccaneers beat.
No official team captains yet this year, but Josh Freeman, Vincent Jackson, Gerald McCoy and Dashon Goldson went out for the coin flip.

Freeman to VJax for 20 yards. Challenge by #Ravens. Terrific throw by Josh. Just put it in the vicinity of VJax and he'll go & get it

Brian Leonard just showed why the Bucs wanted him. A great blitz pickup from the weak side, allowing a completion to Ogletree.

It's the Lavonte David show - first sack of the year goes to the blitzing second-year linebacker. Perfectly timed.

Mark Barron spending a lot of time in the box. Getting some coverage responsibilities on tight ends.

I find it interesting that Bowers is still in the game on defense. Schiano challenged him the other day to string some plays together

RB Brian Leonard scores the Bucs' 1st TD, a three-yard run off right guard that puts the home team up, 13-7 with 5 mins. left in the half.

He didn't make the tackle, but DT Akeem Spence deserves credit for chasing Tyrod Taylor about 25 yards, all the way to the sideline.

It's thankfully over from Ray Jay. #Bucs drop their preseason opener to the #Ravens 44-16. Postgame show coming up! #StayTuned
