Brooks admits the toughest experience in college was when he got two C’s his freshman year in FSU. Hall of Fame Coach Bobby Bowden did not take that lightly. As a true father figure, coach Bowden would not accept satisfactory. Brooks hit the books and graduated with a cumulative GPA of 3.89 and a degree in communications. He later received a masters degree from FSU in 2001, as well as an honorary doctorate from Saint Leo University.
