Not everyone is happy with the Buccaneers’ decision. It was expected. When asked what he would say to a fan who still has lingering doubts about Winston, Lovie admits that, at first, he was in that same boat after reading the stories and seeing the reports written about him. However, after all the meetings, research and interviews, Smith is confident in who Jameis is, adding, “I would just say, to our fans, again to just give him a chance. Don’t have any preconceived opinions about him and just let him show us who he is as a man and as a football player.”
