Quarter Three

First and ten, Buccaneers’ 28: The Bucs begin the second half and first and ten from their own 28 yard line. Jameis Winston is under center, with Vincent Jackson lined up on the left side. Winston executes the play action, and is looking for Jackson on the left side. Like in the second quarter, Jackson runs a double move, and finds a soft spot in the defense. Winston makes a perfect throw, over the cornerback and under the safety, for a fifteen yard pickup and a first down.

First and Twenty, Buccaneers’ 33: After a holding penalty on the offense, Winston and company are in a hole, and that hole is about to get deeper. He drops back to pass, and Jurell Casey runs a perfect “stunt”, which means instead of running up the field, he loops around one of his guys to rush the passer from a different spot. In this case, Casey runs the stunt to the inside, through the “A” gap, and Winston never had a chance. He is sacked, and the loss is eight yards.

Second and twenty eight, Buccaneers’ 25: Down 35-7 and in a really deep hole, the Buccaneers are throwing once again. In the gun, Winston takes the snap and drops straight back. This one is simply a strong play by the Titans’ Derrick Morgan. He simply overpowers the right tackle, driving him back into Winston. Winston trips over his own guy’s ankle, and Morgan touches him up for a sack and an 11 yard loss.

Third and forty two, Buccaneers’ 11: From third and an eternity, Winston tries to make to make some of the yardage back for his punter. Seferian-Jenkins runs a route down the right side, turns and stops, but Winston’s throw is low, and the pass is incomplete.

First and twenty, Buccaneers’ 10: Down 42-7, after a holding penalty, and Jameis Winston has some work to do. It didn’t happen on this play. Winston takes the snap. He drops back, and sees an opening up the middle, so he looks to step up. However, Derrick Morgan was having none of it. Morgan sees the opening, and comes flying from the left side of the shot, Winston’s right side. Before Winston can step up, Morgan drops him for his second sack and a two yard loss.

Third and eighteen, Buccaneers’ 12: Winston is back in the shotgun with three receivers to the left and one to the right. Adam Humphries is in the middle of the three receivers on the left side. He runs a route coming across the formation all the way to the right side. Winston hits him, but for a modest two yard gain, and the Buccaneers are forced to punt.

Second and eleven, Buccaneers’ 1: The Buccaneers have the ball back, but they are deep in their own end. Vincent Jackson is split outside to the right. He runs a short out route, and that is where Winston goes with the football. The cornerback jumps the route and knocks the ball away, nearly handing Winston another pick six.
