Defensive Backs: D

This is a group that needs to get better. Many fans were unhappy when Darrelle Revis was allowed to walk prior to the 2014 season, and the group has declined since. The Bucs ranked 17th against the pass in 2015, allowing 240 yards per game. They also allowed a 31:11 touchdown to interception ratio that just isn’t going to get it done.

The deeper numbers are just as bad, as quarterbacks completed 70% of their passes against the Tampa Bay defense, and posted a 102.5 rating. Basically, teams threw the ball at will against the Buccaneers this season. When a linebacker leads the team in interceptions, it was a bad year for the defensive backs.

This is a position that Jason Licht and company will have to pay significant attention to this offseason.
