Alex Boone

Here again, is a position that the Bucs will be looking at if Logan Mankins decides to retire. One guard to keep an eye on is Alex Boone. Boone has played a lot of right guard in recent years, but also has experience at both tackle spots. He’s a versatile player, one that is still strong at age 28, posting an overall PFF grade of 2.0, with years left in the tank.

He did make $3 million last year, which is not a small number for a guard. But, his versatility makes him worth it. Not only can he play guard, he can slide in and play any of the tackle positions at a moment’s notice. As a guy with six years in the league, his experience will be invaluable to young players like Ali Marpet.

If you like interior linemen, here is a guy that would look very good in the Pewter.
