53.
Since resuming operations in 1999, this Cleveland Browns franchise has taken four quarterbacks in the first round of the NFL Draft. None have developed into a franchise leader. The current Cleveland Browns do not have their quarterback of the future, and with no Andrew Luck’s in this year’s crop, they should definitely not use the second overall pick to hope a quarterback finally pans out.

With this in mind, the Browns can pretty much go anywhere with their first round pick, and in the true spirit of building a team, they should draft the best talent available – Ohio State’s Joey Bosa.

Bosa immediately fills a need on the defensive line, and immediately boosts their ability to pressure opposing quarterbacks like the ones named Dalton, Flacco, and Roethlisberger. With the talent to jump inside or play either outside end position, Bosa can disrupt protection schemes by finding the weakest link week-to-week and exploiting it.

Many are going to want to compare him to the Texans’ J.J. Watt, which is a bit of an over-reach for a rookie defensive end, but with his current talent level and hard work ethic, Bosa could become the leader and anchor for the Browns defense, like Watt is in Houston.
.
