Hargreaves, the cornerback out of Florida, represents the best pure corner prospect this year and fills a need for the Cowboys’ defense.  He has the cover skills and the talent to make plays against the run, but perhaps more importantly, he has the ball skills to help the Dallas secondary improve on the eight interceptions it had in 2015; second lowest in the NFL.

Much talk has been made about finding Tony Romo’s heir to the Cowboys’ throne, but there are much bigger needs which need to be addressed in the near future, while the quarterback crop has the depth to address in later rounds.

With Morris Claiborne entering free agency, and Orlando Scandrick coming off of major knee surgery, the Cowboys don’t have much else in their secondary to protect against the NFL’s pass-happy culture.  Adding Hargreaves makes sense, and he looks like a talent who could be lining up as a starter for the Cowboys in week 1 of the 2016 season.
