5. player. 52.
If Blake Bortles is going to be the Jaguars’ future, then he can’t get sacked 51 times a year. The offensive line gave up the third most sacks in the league, and the team must address this problem in the draft.

Like the Titans, there are a few options for the Jags to address this in free agency, and they have the money to spend. However, the team could address some other key areas and be able to draft an instant impact player like Stanley from the Fighting Irish here at #5.

Every fan base wants the big splash player, and Stanley isn’t it, but no splash now could allow Bortles and his two-headed receiving tandem to make big splashes all season long. Add to it the holes a better offensive line can provide for second year running back T.J. Yeldon, and the Jaguars have an offense to keep up with the other teams in their division.

Adding Stanley will definitely help the Jaguars keep Bortles upright more often. As a bonus, current left tackle Luke Joeckel should move to the right side with this selection, and in turn will basically revive the Aggie’s stalling career.

They will need help on defense as well, but with their cap space and the depth in key defensive positions, the Jags will be able to find weapons to boost their defense later in the draft.

Previously: DeForest Buckner – DE – Oregon
.
