FALLING:  Demarcus Robinson – WR – Florida

When you’re a player who is more known for suspensions than touchdowns, you really need to put your best foot forward at the scouting combine.

Demarcus Robinson, wide receiver from Florida, did the opposite. Coming into the combine it was thought the 6’1” receiver would flash elite athleticism and speed. He showed neither, clocking in at 4.59 in the 40-yard dash, and looking average at best during the position drills.

Most importantly however, was Robinson’s ability to address his four suspensions during his time in Florida. In an interview with Jenna Laine of Sports Talk Florida, Robinson said, “What I was doing was selfish, and was wrong of me….”

If the suspensions weren’t bad enough, the sub par performance added to it, will leave some to wonder if the young man really has what it takes to be a professional football player.

“What I was doing was selfish, and was wrong of me….”

Florida has their pro day coming up on March 22nd, so Robinson has three weeks to show scouts his combine performance was the exception, and not the rule. He’ll also need to answer even more questions about his suspensions, three of which were for Marijuana use.
