Ndamukong Suh defected for Miami, and Haloti Ngata doesn’t seem long for Detroit either.

Megatron hasn’t officially retired just yet, and even if he does, there are no receivers in the draft who can be his replacement, so the Lions shouldn’t go looking here for it.

Sheldon Rankins of Louisville, however, provides a talent up front where it’s needed the most.  His rise to the first round started at the Senior Bowl, and going to the Lions ensures he has the opportunity to show the league it was real.

Regardless of Calvin Johnson’s decision, the Lions will need help on defense to keep Matthew Stafford from having to be in constant passing mode throughout the season.
