2016 NFL Mock Draft Version 2.0: Free Agency Week Edition
Laremy Tunsil from Ole Miss did nothing to counter the opinion he should be the first name called when the NFL Draft starts on April 28th.
Marcus Mariota holds the keys to the franchise in Nashville, and when you have that much riding on the legs and arm of a dual-threat quarterback, you have to protect him.
With Taylor Lewan already on the roster, the Titans can secure Tunsil and ensure the face of their franchise can stay healthy on the field. Pulling the trigger on this pick won’t instantly add to the surface excitement of the Titans, but will give them the flexibility to go after more electric talents later in the draft.
At the combine, Tunsil opted to participate in just a sample size of the day’s events, but showed great movement and ability in the drills he did participate in. He should complete more of the measurable drills during the Ole Miss pro day in March, and is expected to show great speed and athleticism for an offensive tackle.
At his combine interview, former teammate Robert Nkemdiche dropped Tunsil’s name as being present during his marijuana bust, but it doesn’t seem to have had any negative effects for the big-man.
Barring any off-field incidents between now and day 1, Tunsil’s night should start with a bang, and end with his press conference at Titans’ headquarters.
