Eli Apple from Ohio State has been tied to the Pittsburgh Steelers for much of the offseason as a potential draft target.  I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but the Bengals don’t like the Steelers.  Oh, and they also have a need at cornerback.

Selecting Apple here would not only give the Bengals a talented, and maybe more professional, replacement for Adam Jones, but would also jab at their arch rivals at the same time.

While I’m sure the Steelers wouldn’t admit to targeting Apple after the fact, the Bengals’ locker room would chalk it up as a win nonetheless.

Apple is truly deserving of being selected here though, and future matchups featuring him against Antonio Brown would be perfect for Sunday Night Football.
