2016 NFL Mock Draft Version 2.0: Free Agency Week Edition
The Steelers’ offensive line was great in 2015, and keeping it intact is going to be nearly impossible from a financial stand point. Signing one might be possible, but another will go, and Cody Whitehair from Kansas State is the guy to fill in for the departed.
Whitehair is a versatile offensive lineman who can play pretty much anywhere on the line, but is better suited at guard or center. Putting Whitehair next to Maurkice Pouncey is an attractive option, but having him in case Pouncey suffers another injury is even better.
The sting from Eli Apple heading to the Bengals will hurt, but bringing Whitehair into the mix could give Ben Roethlisberger the time he needs to make it look like the Steelers got the better end of the deal.
