2. Barrett Ruud

2005-2010 was an up and down era for the Bucs, so Barrett Ruud is a guy that is easily forgettable in team lore.  But, the fact is that he shouldn’t be.  He was selected in 2005, and after playing a backup role in his first two seasons, Ruud prospered.  He took over the starting role at middle linebacker in 2007, and over the next four years, started every game but one.

Over his four seasons as a starter, Rudd never dropped below 100 tackles.  Despite the team’s 3-13 record in 2009, Ruud kept up his consistent play, posting 142 tackles.  A stout tackler, Rudd deserves the number two spot.

But he is not as good as our number one choice…
