The Raiders have thus far failed to address their safety concerns, but they did add a cornerback in Sean Smith from the Kansas City Chiefs. As there are no safety prospects worth a top-15 pick left on the board, Oakland will need to look to bolster their pass defense with a pass rusher.
Kevin Dodd from Clemson is the more natural down lineman of the duo he formed with fellow Tiger, Shaq Lawson, and it’s his natural pass rushing ability which will get him drafted earlier.
As a 4-3 edge rusher, Dodd and Khalil Mack will make AFC West quarterbacks fear holding onto the ball, and instantly allow the Raiders’ secondary to play more aggressively.
