2016 NFL Mock Draft Version 3.0: Free-Agency Impact
The Colin Kaepernick saga continues to move forward with rumors and speculation flying, seemingly non-stop. Whether Kap is donning Niners’ colors or Browns’, or whatever other colors there might be interested in him, it seems his current team would be wise in taking a quarterback who wants to be in San Francisco.
Jared Goff from Cal may not have the highest upside in the class, but he’s the most NFL ready, and gives the 49ers the best chance to win outside of Kaepernick.
Its unfortunate the team finds themselves in this predicament, as there are many other needs for the team to address if they had buy-in from a guy who just signed a six-year contract extension, two years ago.
More buccaneers: Chris Conte Coming Back to Tampa
There is still time for the team and player to make amends and move forward as professionals sometimes do, but at the moment, it seems more likely Terrell Owens will get accepted to the Hall of Fame via write-in ballots.
Goff is a tall, and talented, quarterback who can give the team a fighting chance if they can put some weapons around him later in the draft. The team failed to bring back Alex Boone, so they’ll need a replacement on the front line, and another receiver would be nice considering Torrey Smith’s impressively underwhelming impact in 2015, and Anquan Boldin’s pending departure.
