Vernon Hargreaves – CB – University of Florida

I’m not a huge proponent of drafting a cornerback in the top-ten unless he’s a can’t miss prospect, like Jalen Ramsey. Hargreaves is not that. On top of that, the Buccaneers have currently put themselves in a position where they wouldn’t need to reach for him at nine since they signed Brent Grimes and Josh Robinson. Now, having said that, I think Hargreaves is a very talented young man and if the Bucs were to trade down and acquire more picks and Hargreaves was still there, I’m all for it.

In three seasons at Florida, the 5’11” Hargreaves had ten interceptions, 27 passes defensed, 121 tackles, and one forced fumble. He shows vulnerability at times, but that is almost to be expected from a college corner. He wouldn’t be a shut down guy immediately, regardless of where he goes. He needs to continue to develop. A great talent…just not a top-ten pick in my opinion.
