The Chicago Bears are searching for a renewal of sorts, and returning a defensive presence to Soldier Field is one of the priorities in the process.

Jarran Reed from Alabama brings with him an ability to play inside or on the edge, and be successful at both. Defenses in today’s NFL don’t stick to one formation and play everything from it, they mix up their alignments and shift players around.

The Houston Texans have created havoc for opposing defenses thanks to J.J. Watt and his ability to attack from anywhere on the field.

Reed is not going to be J.J. Watt, but what he is going to be is a versatile lineman who can instantly impact the Bears’ defense.

Previous Pick:  Jarran Reed – DT – Alabama

Next: 12. New Orleans Saints
