Matthew Stafford was sacked over 40 times last season, and the Lions had the worst rushing attack in the entire NFL.
It all starts up front, and Jack Conklin from Michigan State is a home-grown lineman who can help end all of the negative production.
If things weren’t bad enough in Detroit, the retirement of Calvin Johnson means Stafford can no longer heave prayers in the face of unrelenting pressure and actually have a chance of his guy coming down with it. He’s going to need time, and while Conklin can’t single-handedly change everything, he’s a good start.
